The HEAL Food Alliance is excited to announce that applications are open for the 2023 cohort of HEAL’s School of Political Leadership (SoPL)! Now in its 5th year, SoPL is a six-month long, virtual leadership program that equips frontline, majority Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color leaders working to create more democratic food and agriculture systems that care for people and our planet. SoPL equips our leaders with the tools, knowledge, and skills they need to lead campaigns and drive real political change.
This year, we’re inviting teams of 2-4 individuals to apply to SoPL. Teams must have a clear policy/advocacy, community organizing or electoral campaign idea, and must be connected to or recommended by a HEAL member organization. Given the upcoming farm bill cycle, we also encourage teams working on a campaign idea for the farm bill to apply.
