Operations Coordinator

SoPL is essential to our movement’s goal of reclaiming land and empowering Indigenous and Black communities. Through SoPL, I aim to strengthen my ability to support multi-marginalized groups in reconnecting with their ancestral lands and cultural practices, especially within the QTBIPOC and Indigenous communities, while working toward sustainable and culturally relevant food systems in Greenville, SC. By participating, I look forward to building connections with fellow activists and organizers who share a commitment to advancing food justice for BIPOC communities.

Meet Lucia

Lucia is a Maya Q’anjob’al visual artist, currently focused on graphic design work, and based on Cherokee lands in Greenville, SC. As a multifaceted Indigenous advocate and community organizer, Lucia’s work is deeply shaped by the diverse and resilient cultures and experiences of Indigenous peoples. They strive to create visual art with a powerful tool for advocacy, allowing them to convey complex narratives and raise awareness about issues affecting marginalized communities.

Lucia is committed to fostering safe spaces for Indigenous and diasporic communities, where cultural expression, healing, and solidarity can thrive. Through community engagement, education initiatives, and grassroots organizing, they focus on supporting the reconnection of multi-marginalized QTBIPOC communities to their ancestral lands through art, food, history and culture. Their work aims to uplift voices, create tangible change, and build strong networks of care, resilience, and empowerment within these communities.
